I was rushing out of the house this morning when my phone buzzed at me.  It was a note from my friend reminding me that today is sexy Thursday and tomorrow is FRIDAY.

I looked down at the boring pants and plain sweater I had thrown on and knew there was only one thing left to do.

You know, it takes just as long to put on a skirt as it does pants.  And heels slip on easy.

I'm little more up to par now.

I had been running late because this morning I had another great time with Him.  I stayed under the covers a little too long talking with Him and I think that might be one of my ideas of heaven.

Now I'm crunching on an apple that one of my sweet girls brought me.  I think my kids try to take care of me in little ways.  They've noticed that food slips my mind until we giggle about my growling, yelling stomach.

So last night.  I went to a show that I was really excited about.  But it left a bad taste in my mouth.  There was nothing different about it.  And I love it when things are different, I see Jesus then.

I'm reading Hero Tales to my kids.  Stories about these giants of men who put their lives on the line for God.  Today we read about Dietrich Bonhoeffer.  After his story, we talked and talked.  They couldn't believe his life.  People don't live that way anymore.  People don't demand much from themselves.

I am so tired of Chicken Noodle Soup for the Soul people.  Tired of watery words.  Of talking around it all.

I told my kids- I have high expectations of you.  You have no reason to not live large.

You just remember.  That our God is the God who shuts lion's mouths and crumbles walls and rocks death.  You remember and you do not sway.

And you get out there and be the difference.

  2. Your kids are so blessed to have you. And that new homeschool girl couldn't have a better first classroom teacher - I'm sure it is much easier for her mom to go to work knowing that her daughter is being spiritually challenged by you as well as academically challenged. YOU are making a difference and living out an example for them!
    Love,
    Mom
