I turned my final paper in today and so I am done.
It feels like freedom and fireworks.
Last night I surprised a friend at her wildly successful dance recital. She opened a studio a few months ago and it has taken the town by storm. Because she is simply amazing. And there is nothing cuter than little girls in tutus. Nothing.
I am excited about several things right now. Being up North again. Sleeping. Leaving my glasses and library days behind for a while. Getting back into the Word. And being with my family.
I think I would like to travel for a while after all of this. Maybe take up comics and chopsticks and teach English in Japan. Or give some urban high schoolers a run for their money. Do something worthwhile and unusual. And grow my hair long and free in the process. Try out French and new wines. You've got to mix it up you know, ruts are the worst thing.
Oh, but finishing something. That's the best thing. And so that 46 page small book I wrote for Linguistics? Love it. And that paper on Locke? Wonderful. One sentence essays? So worth my time. This semester? Cherished every minute of it.
I'm still debating next semester. And if I should paint my toes red or purple.
