Yesterday we were ten miles down dirt roads dodging grasshoppers and snakes.
We were garden tomato BLT's on the back porch.
A quick afternoon nap.
A drive to the fly shop and the Home Depot.
A late dinner date on our favorite patio listening to jazz music and going over the good, bad, good of summer.
And then a trip to the grocery for pieces of cake.
Couch hanging before stumbling to bed.

Today he is gone fishing and I,
I am early morning praising from the balcony.
Lifting heavy weights and stretching tired legs in the gym with a friend who loves cake too.
Planting the last of the hydrangeas.
Cuddled on the couch with prickly math curriculum and my notebook and my splitting mind.
Pushing back the anxiety of first day teaching.
Counting on no sleep and a trip to Starbucks in the morning.

Tomorrow?
Is Monday.
So, we'll see.

I might be walking my application into the local chocolate shop who is in need of a candy maker.  Or, I might be busy falling back in love with teaching.
