I have learned that I cannot let the day slump, cannot climb the stairs too soon to sink into the couch and lose my mind to BBC and HGTV and PBS. The key is to keep moving. Not just my body, my heart.
Today for measure:
the boy who looked up from his multiplication sheet, caught my eye, and smiled.
the girl twirling in her fancy queen costume.
the teacher who recently lost her mother and who is teaching me about being brave.
the heavy upper body workout with the friend who encourages my discipline.
the giggling on spin bikes after.
the other friend who stopped by for a plate of cookies and stayed for more than that.
the trip out for an americano.
the hour spent at the piano learning a new piece.
the deep soak in the tub.
the baking for small group.
the book on fighting excess now ordered.
and this.
This slow review of a day full of gifts from a good, kind Father.
