I am sitting in the chair and I am hearing Him through this book, hearing Him whisper "I have granted you rest on every side" and I am in the crowd David is speaking to, I am receiving the command, "Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God."  I am reading the words again, again, again because it is the permission I didn't know I was waiting for.  It is just another senseless blessing after a week of praying and struggling and warring over the unknown months to come.

He has granted you rest on every side.

Now devote your heart and soul to seeking.

I am working on small things: my tone, the beginnings of my days, late night prayers, preaching to my anxiety, holding life loosely, rest.  I am noticing His favor everywhere and instead of looking for the valley that is sure to come, I am learning to rest on this mountain top.  I am finding that rest on the mountain is almost as hard as rest in the valley.

He has granted you rest, now devote your heart.
