Hey. I'm back in the steady, dependable Midwest and look. My room is full of my favorite things again. Hooray, yippee, woot. Or something like that.
We made the trip back in true Brim fashion. There is something about my father that makes me want to die of laughter and when we are all together it is even better. This time we were rolling along in a rented mini van packed to overflowing with my things that were stored in Sandpoint. My things and our ridiculous number of suitcases and the dog.
What a trip.
But now we're back, unloaded, and spread out. I have one week left until classes begin and I am determined to find my good attitude between now and then. Determined.
I really hate traditional things. My family usually goes to a movie on the holidays and eats a dinner of popcorn. But the one thing I do embrace because it helps me to use the year well is that pesky thing we commit to annually, the resolution.
Last year was hard. I picked humility and then I read a different verse and fell in love with the meaning of the word boldness. So I tried to tackle them both and the balance of the two is still what throws me for a loop sometimes. I'm thinking about this year and what it is going to demand of me and what I need to demand of it.
I'm still thinking, but I'm excited to learn from Him.
Very, greatly excited.
Hooray, yippee, woot.
