We are reading The Story as a church and so we are relearning the old histories, recalling the chronology of the Old Testament Fathers and Mothers, We are meeting again the God who resides loudly over His people, who moves from the cloud to the pillar to the mountain top to the ark. The God who was famous for His power, who chose His people and led them, sometimes kicking and screaming and certainly whining, to the good land.
The power of prayer here is breathtaking.
The story of the refugee: hope-filled.
And in light of recent headlines, speeches, rambling statuses, front pages, there is this great need: for The Church to study The Book and to pray to The God who hears.
