I got a package in the mail today and I was thrilled. I decided that 25 is the year to start wearing perfume. It seemed like the grown up thing to do. And after a lot of sniffing, I found one I love.
I can't stop smelling myself.
Who cares about my flat droopy hair, I smell lovely.
I was busted out today. It was during Bible class in Joshua 23.
He's just led them into The Land God promised them. And he knows his work is done, he knows it's time for him to go home. So the chapter is his last words, his last reminder.
Listen, God brought you here. Look, we made it. Everything He said He would do, He did. Don't forget it. Don't ever, ever forget it. And don't you walk away from Him.
But if you do, He will bring you back. You'll be broken. You'll be bruised. But He'll bring you back. That's how good He is.
So be very strong. And take heart.
I stopped in the middle and smiled at them.
Busted again I told them.
Oh Miss B. You're funny.
I got home tonight after dark. The stars were so bright, I could see them in the lake. And I stood at the edge and just listened and looked and breathed. The world is not so scary when everything is in its place.
I know I haven't finished everything. And I know that His promises are good.
But sometimes the feeling that this world is not enough overtakes me. And I can not wait for the Promised Land.
Even so, Lord Jesus, come quickly!
ReplyDeleteI love it when the Lord meets us right where we are and remind us who he is. He is faithful!
